Financial Aid

Adoption Tax Credit

The adoption tax credit has been extended until the end of 2012. Please check with your tax accountant on how this tax credit applies to your financial situation.

The Adoption Tax Credit was made refundable in 2010. If a family has no tax liability, the IRS will refund the amount due. However, the refundability of the adoption tax credit will only remain in effect for 2011. The refundability expires on December 31, 2011 and will not be available for 2012.

There are many people advocating to make the Adoption Tax Credit permanent.
The Internal Revenue Service provides information about the Adoption Tax Credit.
